EMS Cargo Limited was established in Manchester, England, in 1977. In 1994/5 EMS underwent a phase of rapid expansion, with new offices opening in Birmingham and London Heathrow. A merger with Esprite Cargo Limited added a London Gatwick office, and considerably strengthened the Heathrow operation. As part of a rationalisation in 2002 the Gatwick office was closed and merged with Heathrow, but the following year a new office in Carlisle was opened. EMS is proud to be able to offer the complete range of logistical services, from procurement through to door delivery in any part of the world, by whichever means of transport is most applicable. EMS is a member of the World Cargo Alliance, the world’s largest independent freight forwarder network. Being in WCA gives us direct access to professional like-minded agents in 293 markets in 114 countries. All WCA agents have to undergo a strict vetting process and conform to a Code of Ethics, so we can be sure they are sound financially and professionally. EMS is a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the British International Freight Association (BIFA), and trades under BIFA’s Stanadard Trading Conditions (a copy of which is available on request). EMS is also a Department of Transport Security-listed agent. In order to comply with the obligations of being in the bodies mentioned above, EMS has to have a strict training programme in place for its staff, especially regarding security and the handling of Dangerous Goods. WHATEVER YOUR NEED, WHEN IT COMES TO MOVING GOODS AROUND THE GLOBE, EMS WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS. |
